Fun Things Etc. is an independently-owned toy store located at 196 North Main Street in downtown Waynesville, NC.  Some people call us "that place where they shoot the monkeys."  When you visit us on a busy day, you might see shoppers testing out juggling sticks and yo-yos, Toy Specialists assaulting each other with a Water Wiz Water Gun, or someone sending one of the Superfly Flying Monkeys through a hula hoop "target" hanging from our ceiling.  (Fun fact:  we sell just as many flying monkeys to adults as to kids!)  And do you ever suspect your child would live in the toy store if given the chance?  Our tables of building blocks, K'Nex, and model trains give kids a place to hang out and play when they want their visit to be a little more "long-term."

Customers sometimes describe our sales floor as "Huge!" or say it "Goes on forever!"  (And that's usually before they see the Event Space in the back!)  Brightly-colored partitions divide the space into sections including Outdoors, Jokes & Pranks, Magic, Games, Novelties, Building, Pretend, Puzzles, Puppets, Science, and Trains, plus more odds and ends being added all the time.  Our Event Space, tucked away right behind the sales floor, has been known to host crowd-pleasers like puppet shows, workshops, and exhibits of electric model trains.  Whether you're looking for classic toys or new inventions, or you just need a quick treat off the candy shelf, come see us... and bring your sense of curiosity and adventure!
