Haywood Spay/Neuter's "Fall Fix" $10 special has been extended until December 20th to make sure every Haywood County pet owner has a chance to take advantage of this offer. According to Connie Hewitt, President, "The phone has been ringing like crazy with people asking about this special. We know some pet owners received the information late and have not had a chance to sign up yet, so we are extending the offer to December 20th. For $10, the cat or dog will be fixed and receive a rabies vaccination if needed. We may not be able to get them on a December transport to Humane Alliance but first thing in January.

As of November 30th, Haywood Spay/Neuter has had 2,219 cats and dogs fixed at Humane Alliance this year. "We have surpassed our 2012 goal of 2,100 surgeries and it looks like we'll beat our record breaking 2011 year of 2,308 surgeries by year end," stated Penny Wallace, Executive Director. "These numbers are important to us, because the more animals sterilized, means fewer unwanted litters this coming spring," Penny continued. "Spay/neuter really does mean that the number of animals turned into the county shelter goes down and that means fewer healthy lovable cats and dogs are put at risk of being euthanized."
