108th Canton Labor Day Celebration Aug. 29 — Sept. 1
The oldest Labor Day celebration in the south returns to Canton for the 108th year beginning Aug. 29.
Expect a weekend full of cotton candy, carnival rides, classic cars, old fashioned music and clogging and more during Canton's largest event of the year, which kicks off with Pickin' in the Park on the stage at the recreation park. There will be a classic car show, cornhole tournament, southern gospel and musical performances by Gold Heart, Aaron Burdett, The Folsom Prison Gang and Joe Lasher Jr.
Among the many participating in the county's only Labor Day parade Sept. 1. will be contestants from the Miss Labor Day Pageant and the age division winners of the Little Miss and Mr. Labor Day Pageant.

Friday, Aug. 29
7 — 10 p.m.: Pickin' in the Park featuring Vintage Country band and Southern Appalachian and Smokey Mountain Stompers
Saturday, Aug. 20
10 a.m. — 2 p.m.: Classic car show
2:30 — 10 p.m.: Musical performances
3:30 — 6:30 p.m.: Cornhole tournament with cash prize
Sunday, Aug. 31
2 — 5 p.m.: Southern gospel music with performances by Ila Knight, His Mercies, Purpose Quartet and Faithful Witness with Tyler Nations as emcee.
6 p.m.: Contemporary youth music with performances by Faith Under Fire, Rocky Face Baptist Youth Choir and Crestview Baptist Church Drama Team.
