6th annual Heritage Life Skills conference is April 21-23

Carolina Readiness Supply in Waynesville will host the sixth Heritage Life Skills conference April 21-23 at the Folkmoot Friendship Center, 112 Virginia, Ave., Waynesville.

The three-day conference will feature hands-on classes that teach "old time" skills such as canning vegetables and meat, properly storing food, beekeeping, soap making, cold smoke meat preparation, trapping, blacksmithing and more.

Class registration costs $50 per day on the day of. Those paying by credit card are asked to call ahead to prepay. Vendors booths will be open to the public for free.

The conference will feature special guest speakers:

— Friday, April 21: 7 p.m. is Forrest Garvin, "Building Prepper Groups;"  8 p.m. is SoutherPrepper1, "Protect Your Home"

— Saturday, April 22, 7 p.m. musical performance by Spencer Two Dogs; 8 p.m. is Dr. William Forstchen

— Sunday, April 23, 11 a.m. to noon, church services

The public is welcome to attend the evening sessions for $5.
