Vinny Slizewski, a retired FDNY from Battalion 15; Steve Boehm, a retired FDNY fire marshall; Tom Plackis, a retired FDNY from Engine 320; Bill Hoke, Clyde Fire Department safety officer; Capt. Ben Caldwell, Clyde Fire Department; Ronnie Lafountain, FDNY; and Angelo Quintana, a retired FDNY from Engine 212 all stand behind the Clyde memorial.

The Clyde Fire Department will hold its annual 9/11 memorial service at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11 in front of the fire station located at 8531 Carolina Blvd. in Clyde.

The service will take place at the site of the department's memorial that was erected on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. The memorial is constructed around two large beams taken from the rubble of the World Trade Center in New York City.
