A Look at N.C. legislative races
RALEIGH - The 2012 election season has been dominated by the presidential race as it sucks up most of the political oxygen in the room.
First we had the heated Republican primary, then an early start to a fierce general election campaign and the party conventions just a few weeks ago. As the calendar arrives at October, it’s time to make sure North Carolina voters are paying attention to some of the overlooked down-ballot races as well.
One of the most important decisions voters will have to make this November is who will represent them in Raleigh. All 170 seats in the N.C. General Assembly are up for election this year — 50 in the Senate and 120 in the House of Representatives. These races might not get much attention in the news, but they will play a key role in shaping the future ...
