Loving wife, mother, grandmother
CANTON — Adeline Sarah Haney Boyd, 92, of Canton, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013.
Mrs. Boyd was born March 12, 1921 to the late Weaver Haney and the late Elizabeth Matthews Haney.
She was a lifelong resident of Haywood County and was a devoted homemaker. Mrs. Boyd’s warm hospitality of opening her home to family and friends for meals and visits will always be remembered. She and her husband, Hubert shared many wonderful memories and blessed years together and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life. Adeline shall be forever remembered for her kind and caring spirit.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Boyd who passed away in 2007; five brothers and three sisters and also her special cat, “Pumpkin,” that she loved dearly.
Surviving are her daughter, Sue Heglar, and her husband, Jim Heglar of Brevard; a son, Jerry Boyd, and his wife, Joan Boyd of Asheville; grandchildren, Robert Heglar of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Jennifer McGaha and her husband, Dean McGaha of Pisgah Forest and Bryan Boyd and his wife, Laura Boyd of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Tygh, Avery McGaha, Emery McGaha and Abby Kate Boyd; and a sister, Edith Harris of Canton.
The Boyd family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude for all of the love and attention given to Adeline by her special caregivers.
A graveside funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Fincher’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Clyde.
