Candace Stevens, owner of Merle Norman/Adorabella Salon since 2009, is seeing growth and is branching out with a photography studio. She has had this vision for quite some time.

“This summer came an exciting opportunity to move my salon and cosmetics studio into a more spacious location,” said Stevens. “This was conveniently located across the hall”

Along with the benefits the larger space provides for the existing business, the new location has allowed Stevens’ vision of a photography studio come to life.

Adorabella Photography will be unique by being able to offer an all-inclusive service for anyone to receive a professional makeover and hairstyle before his or her photo shoot. The studio has hired professional photographers with formal education in filmography who will be providing personalized portrait sessions to individuals and families in studio and on location.

Stevens brings over 12 years of experience working in the beauty and fashion industry. She has worked as a hair stylist and make-up artist for modeling agencies such as Wilhelmina and The Avenue in Nashville, Tennessee.  She has also had the opportunity to work with several professional photographers — former Miss Tennessee, Eddie Money, Jovani Fashions, formal wear fashion Designer Sherri Hill, L’Oreal, and Lancôme. Stevens has also received special training in make-up and skin care in Los Angeles, California, and has a background in graphic design.

Sharing this business dream with Stevens is her husband, Derek, a professional 3-D artist, actor and former model. Derek will be actively providing his professional artistic guidance with the photography.

Stevens has employed stylists Brittany Boyd and Camden Nelson and Amanda Schmersahl as the studio manager.  All of staff have backgrounds in cosmetology and bring years of experience and expertise to the salon. The salon is also currently looking for more stylists to help meet its business demands.

Adorabella Salon/Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio continues to offer full hair care services, Merle Norman Cosmetics, HairUWear Wigs and fashion accessories.
