In Loving Memory
WAYNESVILLE — Albert William Clontz, 69, of Ray Street, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014.
Albert was a native of Haywood County and had made his home in Candler before returning to Haywood County for the past nine years. He was the son of the late Haskew Clontz and the late Ada Fish Clontz. He was employed as a carpenter for Buncombe County Enterprises and was a member of Center Pigeon Baptist Church. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His love for his family will always be cherished by everyone, especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the love of his life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, “Bud” Clontz, and a niece that he loved dearly, Lou Ann Underwood.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Joan Stewart Clontz; a daughter, Mitzy Parris, of Waynesville; a son, Stacy Parris and his wife, Kortney, of Enka; brothers, Roy Clontz, Ellis Clontz and Russell Clontz; sisters, Agnes Henson, Evelyn Underwood and Dorothy Worley; grandchildren, James Lee Parris, Bryn Nicole Parris, Dylan Parris-Vaz Quez, John Stanley McCrary, Jesse Lee Parris, James Tyson Parris; great-grandchildren, Morgan Lynn Parris, Kaylee Rene Parris and Tristan Slade Parris.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 3, in the chapel of Crawford/Ray Funeral Home. The family received friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial followed at Center Pigeon Cemetery. Family served as pallbearers.
