Sarah Wenzel, chair of the Altrusa scholarship committee has announced the recent recipients of Altrusa scholarships for the 2012-13 school year.

From Tuscola High School, Sarah Rogers was the recipient of the $1000 —  Altrusa Memorial Scholarship.  Also receiving Altrusa scholarships were: Patric Morgan, Jordan McCracken and Jean Skelton all receiving $1000 each and Michala Muse receiving $500.

From Pisgah High School, scholarship recipients were Maria Bachuk, Noah Henson and Jordan Mann all receiving $500 each. Jessalyn Rathbone and Elizabeth Pina received $1000 each.

Altrusa also gives scholarship awards each year to deserving “non-traditional” students.  This year’s recipient is Bradley Brendell.  Brendell has worked as a chef locally for many years.  He is going back to school, ...
