CANDLER — Nina Anita Worley-Green, 66, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013, at John F. Keever Solace Center.
A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of Jim Worley and the late Maryland Scott Worley. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jane McGaha. In 2012, Anita retired from the Black Mountain Center with 20 years of service and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was very active with the Buncombe County Special Olympics and a coordinator for the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Walter C. Green; three daughters, Kathryn Jones and Jennifer Jones Boone (Steven), both of Weaverville, and Nina Jones Edmonds (Jason), of Barnardsville; two sons, Mark Alan Jones, of Burnsville, and Nathan Lee Jones (Carolina), of Destin, Florida; two sisters, Darlene Surrett and Edna Lee Willis, both of Canton; two brothers, Joe Carroll Worley and Jennings Worley, both of Canton; and six grandchildren, Trent, Autumn, and Brooke Sutton, Casey and Cierra Boone and Kailey Edmonds.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Trinity Baptist Church in Asheville, with the Revs. Dr. Ralph Sexton, Lenny Rogers, Dr. Bob Doom, and Danny Hardin officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Newfound Road. The family will receive friends from noon to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
