The Waynesville Kodokan Judo Club will host the 2013 Fall Brawl at the Waynesville Recreation Center from Friday, Oct. 4 to Saturday, Oct. 5. This will be the 26th year for the event.

The event will also have a hot rod car show, music, massage therapy,
T-shirts and barbeque for sale. The car show, sponsored by the Sunset Cruisers, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The judo tournament will start at 11 a.m. The cost is $30 to participate in the tournament, but is free to spectators.

The Waynesville Kodokan Judo has been busy this year traveling to
multiple tournaments throughout the region. The club took 14 members of the team to Charlotte this summer for a three-day judo camp, and three members also traveled to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in July for the United States Judo Association Junior Nationals, a two-day event that included more than 500 competitors. The national team from Waynesville included Jessi Shell, Max Rogers and Braden Riggs; Shell and Riggs each won medals.

The Waynesville Judo Kodokan Judo Club practices from 4 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and from 4 to 6:15 p.m. on Thursdays at the Waynesville Recreation Center. The cost to join is $20 per month plus membership to the Waynesville Recreation Center. The club is co-sponsored by the Waynesville Parks and Recreation Department.
