Apply for tourism funding

The Haywood County Tourism Development Authority is accepting applications for 1% Occupancy Tax funding in the 28745 zip code area for 2013-14.

Funding must be used for programs, festivals, or special events that have a history or potential of attracting out-of-county visitors, either as participants or spectators, and will generate room nights at Haywood County accommodations.

Consideration will also be given to events that can generate national, state, or regional media exposure for Haywood County and its tourism offerings.  New qualified events will be given priority for funding consideration.  All submissions must be for events and programs that will take place in the 28745 zip code area and funding must be used no later than June 30, 2014.

 

Applications and guidelines can be accessed through the HCTDA website: www.haywoodcountytourismdevelopment.com, under the “Grants Info” section.  Six identical copies of the application are required for consideration.  All completed applications must be accepted no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6.  Applications can be submitted at Lake Junaluska’s Bethea Welcome Center located at 91 N.
