Archery competition to raise funds for Helping Haywood's Hungry Kids

Archery isn’t a talent Van Olp, owner of the Waynesville Automotive Dealership, possesses, so what would make him have an archery contest? He’s trying to help out a good cause.

Olp recently announced the RAM-Bow Archery Challenge at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 at the dealership at 280 Hyatt Creek Road in Waynesville. With an entry fee of $15, people of all ages can compete for the grand prize of a new 2013 RAM Outdoorsman Truck, but more importantly, all of the money raised from the entry fees will go toward the Helping Haywood’s Hungry Kids program.

The program was developed by Rotary International of Waynesville to raise funds for the MANNA Backpack program in local schools. The Backpack program provides food for children in need every Friday to give them something to eat over the weekend. ...
