Arrests made in Iron Duff theft case

Sheriff's deputies have arrested two men they believe are responsible for a rash of thefts in the Iron Duff/Crabtree community.

Hardy Keith Davis, 43, of Merimac Court, Clyde and Phillip Jeremy Bryant, 17, of Nancy Lane, Waynesville, face multiple felony charges in connection with a number of stolen items from a mobile home park on Hyder Mountain Road.

Among items stolen were a wood splitter, valued at about $2,300, a table saw, several chain saws, portable air compressors, a leaf blower and a lawn mower.

Both faces charges of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, two counts possession of stolen property, larceny and two counts obtaining property by false pretense — all felonies.

They were each jailed under $20,000 secured bond and are due to appear in district court Jan. 9.
