Art After Dark held Nov. 1
The leaves are falling, and it’s a perfect time to explore the beautiful mountain town of Waynesville.
The Waynesville Gallery Association presents the perfect opportunity with Art After Dark from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 Main Street. Enjoy a stroll through working studios and galleries on Main Street and Depot Street.
Festive Art After Dark flags denote participating galleries, such as Haywood County Arts Council’s Gallery 86, Earthworks, Jeweler’s Workbench, Twigs and Leaves Gallery, TPennington Art Gallery, Main Street Artist’s Co-op, Grace Cathey Sculpture Garden and Gallery, the Village Framer and Cedar Hill Studios.
A vibrant community of art galleries stay open late and a handful of fabulous restaurants all within walking distance make for a fantastic evening. Visit the new Sunburst Trout Market at 142 N. Main St., and pick up some goodies for your weekend.
Jewelry designer Keri Hollifield, Waynesville native and owner of Earthstar Studio, will be demonstrating her techniques at Twigs and Leaves Gallery for Art After Dark. Inspired by the natural world, her work can be seen in the gallery year round.
Friday evening, as you stroll through the gallery’s 145 primarily regional artists, enjoy piano music by Waynesville’s Dr. Bill Stecher and delight in the savory hors d’eurves.
Earthworks feature artist is our own Elisa Holder, and her original paintings and limited edition giclee canvas prints. Holder is the resident artist and is featured once a year for Art After Dark. November's AAD will show case some of her newest work and some of her giclees as well.
