The Haywood County Arts Council Gallery 86 has two upcoming exhibits open to artists in the Western NC region.  Both exhibits are themed shows and are open to artists interested.

The Gallery 86 exhibits “Artists and Gardens-A Partnership” will feature various mediums of art.  This is an opportunity for artists working with paint, clay, glass, metal, wood, sculpture or fabrics to create works featuring gardens or objects that can be used to enhance gardens, decks or patios.

Interested artists should email photograph samples (72 dpi) of their work to by March 20, 2014.  Selected artists will be asked to have three pieces for the April 30-May 31, 2014 exhibit.

The June 4-28 Gallery 86 exhibit will celebrate the Arts and Crafts of Appalachia.  The Downtown Waynesville Association’s “Appalachian Lifestyle Celebration” will be on Saturday, June 9.  Main Street will be closed to traffic fro the all day celebration.  Arts and Crafts, mountain music, dance, storytelling and traditional food will be available from 10am-5pm.
