The Haywood County Arts Council is now accepting donated items for the second annual ArtShare fundraiser.

The arts council will accept fine art, jewelry and other collectibles to be auctioned off during the ArtShare Exhibit, which will run from Sept. 4 through Sept. 27 at Gallery 86 in downtown Waynesville.  The exhibit will also be held from Sept. 26 through Oct. 12 at HART Theater.

This new project is called ArtShare, a service to help art collectors or estate agents sell one or more pieces of art with the proceeds being split between the collector and the Haywood County Arts Council. Collectors may want to sell art for a reason such as down-sizing a home, a death in the family, moving to a new home, or a change in one’s taste in art.

Last year, the arts council received more than 50 unique pieces, including oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings, pottery, glass, sculptures and more. The styles of work as well as price range greatly varied.

Items will be collected until Aug. 22. For more information, visit or call 828-452-0593.
