Arts Council holds ArtShare exhibit and auction
Because of its success last year, The Haywood County Arts Council is bringing back its planned giving exhibition at Gallery 86 called ArtShare.
This unique project is a service to help art collectors or estate agents sell one or more pieces of art with the proceeds being split between the collector and the Haywood County Arts Council.
Collectors may want to sell art for a reason such as down-sizing a home, a death in the family, moving to a new home, or a change in one’s taste in art. ArtShare is not designed for direct sales from the creating artists.
The Planned Giving Committee is seeking quality paintings and art objects to offer for sale. Especially desirable is art by local artists. A variety of styles, sizes and prices will be accepted and offered for sale.
The seller will receive 70 percent of the proceeds and the Haywood County Arts Council will receive 30 percent as a seller’s commission or the seller may choose to donate the entire proceeds of the sale to the Council.
The ArtShare sale will be held until Sept. 27 in Gallery 86 at the Haywood County Arts Council, 86 N Main Street, Waynesville. There will also be another showing at HART Theatre from Sept. 25 until Oct. 12.
The Haywood County Arts Council believes in the power of creativity to strengthen communities, support their local traditions, and build pride in their cultural heritage.
