The Haywood County Arts Council held a holiday season luncheon Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Grandview Lodge in Waynesville, to announce its volunteer of the year — Bettina Morgan. She volunteers at Gallery 86, and has served as the 2013 coordinator for the Sunday Series. Morgan is an artist in her own right. She is a painter, as well as a talented Celtic harpist with a beautiful voice.
Morgan has expanded the 2014 Sunday Series to include both the Canton and Waynesville Public Libraries. These Sunday afternoon concerts are sponsored by the Haywood County Arts Council and are free to the public. Watch for the dates and time of these concerts.
Entertainment at the luncheon was provided by Scott Taylor, director of m usic and workshop arts at Waynesville's First United Methodist Church. He was accompanied by Kathy McNeil a conductor, composer and professional chorister.
The Haywood County Arts Council is a volunteer organization whose mission is to support and promote all art and artists in Western North Carolina.
