Assembly Daily resurrected
In honor of the 100th anniversary celebration and week-long homecoming being held at Lake Junaluska this week, the Assembly Daily is being resurrected. As in past years, the publication will serve as a daily roadmap for all things Junaluska in a week packed with 50 events.
The publication can be picked up at the front desks of any lodging facility at the lake, and at the welcome center. Or, those who want a preview of what's happening before they visit can check the website where the publication will be available electronically.
Joye Maier Hehn served as the editor of the Assembly Daily in 1980 and wrote an article on the publication for The Mountaineer.
"We had young boys and girls who were summer residents deliver the paper to homes and to all the hotels and buildings at the Lake. They even got tips from the residents. The Daily served as an important update of events for the entire Lake. I enjoyed every minute of my summer as editor."
