Autumn Care Welcomes Camp Groups from Lake Junaluska

Autumn Care residents and youth from Clifton Forge, Virginia, play "Jesus Loves Me" with bells. The youth are campers from Lake Junaluska.

During the summer months, residents at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab enjoy visits with kids from all over the country.  Lake Junaluska Assembly hosts numerous church groups throughout the summer.  It provides a beautiful place for children and adults to participate in a week of fun and fellowship.  As part of their mission work, youth groups visit nursing facilities to brighten the day of their many residents.  Autumn Care has been a favorite destination for camp groups while visiting Lake Junaluska.  The residents at Autumn Care enjoy spending time with the kids and love their energy!  They perform music, lead an activity, or simply visit for a while.  This inter-generational activity is so important for both the residents and the kids alike.  The visiting youth groups also provide spiritual activities for the residents.  They often lead residents in prayer, sing gospel songs, and read scripture.  On Friday, June 15, residents enjoyed a visit from a youth group from Central United Methodist Church from Clifton Forge, Virginia.  They spent four days at Lake Junaluska and had a blast with residents at Autumn Care by sharing with them their bell choir and playing games.
