B.D. 'Pete' Waldron Jr.

MAGGIE VALLEY — B.D. “Pete” Waldron Jr., 88, passed away at Memorial Campus Mission Hospital.
Pete was born in Brunswick, Georgia. He had resided in Eufaula, Alabama, and Amelia Island before moving to Haywood County in 1992. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, who passed away in 1998. He was a U. S. Army WWII and Korea war veteran. Pete was a graduate at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, where he received a bachelor’s degree in business. He was employed with American Building Corporation as a marketing manager and was owner and operator of the Holiday Inn in Pell City, Alabama. Pete was a private pilot for many years and enjoyed playing golf.
He is survived by a daughter, Maggie Marlowe, and a son, John Waldron, both of Atlanta, Georgia; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends at Pete’s residence in Maggie Valley from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to go to the VFW, 216 Miller St., Waynesville, NC 28786.
