Lake Junaluska, NC – If walls could talk, then surely those at Stuart Auditorium could sing.

For 100 years this historic auditorium at Lake Junaluska has resonated with the rhythms, sounds and songs of  various musicians, choirs and vocalists from across the globe, delivering their message of Christian love through the one universal language—music.

And resonate it will during Centennnial Homecoming Week, June 30-July 7, as the Lake celebrates a century of Christian hospitality with concerts by the Lake Junaluska Singers, former Lake Junaluska Singers and Haywood County bluegrass favorites Balsam Range.

Balsam Range, whose song “Trains I Missed” won the 2001 IBMA Song of the Year Award, will perform their homegrown-style of bluegrass at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 2. The band’s current album, Papertown, is the Bluegrass Unlimited Survey’s top album for June.

The Lake Junaluska Singers will perform patriotic tunes, under the direction of Melodie Galloway, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 3 and Thursday, July 4.  The Junaluksa Singers Reunion concert will feature songs popular during each decade of the Lake Junaluska Singers’ history at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 6. Dr. Glenn Draper will be guest conducting the concert. Recordings of the concert will be available for purchase.
