Baptist leaders speak at area revival at Hazelwood Baptist Church

A local church will feature two prominent Baptist leaders in fall revival services Sunday, Oct. 6 through Wednesday, Oct. 9.
Hazelwood Baptist Church will begin revival at 10:50 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 with Marty Dupree, team leader of evangelism and church growth of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. A graduate of the UNC-Chapel Hill and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Dupree served as senior pastor of Central Baptist Church in Hildebran and also served as associate pastor for church ministries at First Baptist Church in Waynesville. Dupree will also speak in the Sunday evening service at 6 p.m. Oct. 6.
Dr. Gary Hearon will be featured in services at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, Oct. 7 to 9. Hearon is the executive director emeritus of the Dallas Baptist Association where he retired in 2006, having served since 1985. He worked with more than 560 congregations weekly worshipping in 74 different languages and dialects. A former pastor of First Baptist Church in Waynesville, and pastor for 24 years in Texas and North Carolina, Hearon holds degrees from Baylor University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Dallas Baptist Seminary.
