Barbara J. Tate
HUNTSVILLE, Alabama — Barbara Jean Tate, 73, formerly of Clyde, passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 2013.
A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Chancy C. and Flora Wynes Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Norman, and one brother, Chancy C. “Bill” Jones, Jr. She graduated from Crabtree Iron Duff High School in Haywood County and was a dedicated employee of Huntsville Manufacturing and Cheeseborough Ponds. She was a loving mother and faithful Christian who enjoyed listening to gospel music.
She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda T. Guza, of Huntsville, Alabama; two sons, Larry M. Tate of Waynesville and David Michael Tate, Sr. of Hazel Green, Alabama; five sisters, Carra Lee Haney of Clyde, Ruth Moore of Clyde, Betty Arrington and Nancy Jones, both of Waynesville and Sarah Hicks of Winston-Salem; one brother, Marion V. Jones, of Clyde; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Park officiating. Burial will follow at Fincher’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
