There will be a “Barbecue ‘n Banjo Bash,” with Mike Clampitt, Republican candidate for the N.C. House, from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept 23, at the Jackson County Cullowhee Park (Grand Pavilion). The park is off Cullowhee Mountain Road, across from WCU.  
The event will include barbecue and fixings, games for the family, a dunk tank, and bluegrass music by Howell-Jones and The Smoky Mountain Highlanders (formerly named Rye Hollow Boys).  
SkyNews TV from the U.K. will be there interviewing people about the upcoming election. All are invited to bring the family for the afternoon.  The donation is $20 per person or $50 per family for the whole day. Call 736-6222.
