BBBS 'Bowl for Kids Sake' to be held March 9
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Haywood County is having its annual fund raising event, Bowl for Kids Sake, Saturday March 9, at Sky Lanes on Patton Avenue, West Asheville. BBBS is currently seeking local Haywood County Business sponsors and Individuals looking to organize a bowling team and help raise money. This is a great opportunity for church groups, civic groups, educational groups, and anyone wishing to get involved and have some fun. All bowlers receive free bowling shoes, refreshments including pizza, a T-shirt and a the chance to win door prizes.
"Bowl for Kids’ Sake is the our most successful and cost-effective fundraiser," said Martha Barksdale, BBBS program coordinator. "Our 2012 BFKS raised $18,648, with expenses of $2,116 (11 percent). We are proud of this level of efficiency as it allows us to match and support many more young people with trusted adult mentors."
Those who donate to BBBS, are choosing to positively impact the lives of children in our community. Contributions allow BBBS to help children facing adversity achieve benefits leading to lifelong success, while also linking support to the community's most effective and well-known youth mentoring program.
