Be an ‘angel’ for foster children’s holiday needs

Nov 16, 2012

Haywood County’s foster children are in need of community assistance this holiday season. The DSS office has decorated canisters with little gingerbread men that have foster children’s names and wish lists. Donors will be given a “guideline” when a child's name is taken.

The county’s children are in greater demand this year, due to the large number of foster kids.

To help become an “angel” for a local child this holiday season, contact or stop by the Haywood County DSS after Monday, Nov. 19. Gifts are due back to the agency no later than Dec.14.

For information on the program, call 452-6620, and ask for Linda Tollefson or Valorie DiIenno.
