Jack Belcher has been chosen as the December resident of the month at Spicewood Cottages in Clyde. He has been a a resident of Spicewood Cottages since June 2012.

Belcher served in the Navy during World Ward II spending most of this time in aircrafts hunting submarines over the Pacific. After getting out of the military Belcher spent a large portion of his working life in chemical labs with the paper industry. He has one daughter who lives in Lake Junaluska, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Spicewood Cottages which is now part of the Haywood Lodge & Retirement Center organization is a locally owned and operated retirement and assisted living facility located behind the Mountain Medical Center in Clyde.
