CANTON — Bernice “Aunt Nicey” Scott, 84, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at The Homestead.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Essie Wilson Scott.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Artie, Bonnie, Jennie, Mark, Thelma, Gomer, Bill, Calvin and Dorothy.  Bernice retired from Canton Health Care as a nurse’s aide and was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church.  She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and working in her flower garden.

She is survived by one brother, Clay Scott and his wife, Shirley, of Canton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.  Monday, Dec. 3, at Beaverdam Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Worley officiating.  Burial will follow at Beaverdam Baptist ...
