Loving Mother, Grandmother

CANTON — Bessie Sue Park Rathbone, 91, of Canton, passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2012.

Mrs. Rathbone was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Haywood County to the late Joseph Allen Park and the late Maggie Downs Park.   She was a lifelong resident of Haywood County and was a 1938 graduate of Clyde High School.  Mrs. Rathbone was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.  She was a talented seamstress, enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower garden and she was also a wonderful cook. Mrs. Rathbone will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbridge Rathbone, who passed away in 1987, one sister and three brothers.
