Beverly Green Kates
CUMMING, Georgia — Beverly Green Kates, 68, of Cumming, Georgia, a native of Waynesville, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013.
She was a member of Cumming Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday school class and the Daughters of the Nile. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmommy. Beverly was two-time president of the Cumminettes.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Carroll Kates of Cumming; children, Jana Kates of Cumming and Davin and Debbie Kates of Cumming; sisters and brothers, Edith Grant of Waynesville, Margie Lowdermilk of Clyde and Berlin Green of Waynesville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, the Rev. Alcy and Sue Kates of Waynesville; and grandchildren, Tyler Kates, Sarah Kates, Shannon Waters and Casey Stonecypher.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Barry Crocker officiating. Interment followed in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family received friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ingram Funeral Home and Saturday the hour prior to the service.
