CANTON — Billy “ Bill “ Joe Green, 65, of Riverside Drive, passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 at the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville.
Mr. Green was born May 10, 1947 and was a lifelong resident of Haywood County. He was a United States Army veteran having been deployed in Germany. Mr. Green was a dedicated employee of Evergreen Packaging and retired in May 2012. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed restoring tractors. Bill, a man of many talents, was also a wonderful cook! He loved his family deeply and his life was centered around his family and friends. He never met a stranger and his friendly way and gift of conversation truly describes Bill. He adored his granddaughter, Ashley, teaching her to drive a tractor, to become familiar with the use of all of his tools, and the hunting trips to Georgia that they shared together are memories that shall never be forgotten. Bill was indeed a wonderful husband, father, Papaw and friend to many.
