Blue Ridge Health (BRH) recently celebrated the grand opening of its newest site in Waynesville. Nearly 50 community leaders and county stakeholders were in attendance to tour and learn about the efforts underway by the nonprofit community health center to improve the health and wellbeing of Haywood County.

"The support we’ve received since opening our new clinic in Waynesville is testament to the priorities of Haywood County leadership and stakeholders,” said Richard Hudspeth, BRH CEO. “By making this Good Samaritan Clinic of Haywood County site a community health center, we’re well-positioned in the county to be able to have a significant impact on health outcomes across the board for years to come.”

Like other BRH sites, the new Waynesville location provides full spectrum primary care services for all residents of Haywood County and neighboring communities.

Services include family medicine, prenatal care, psychiatry, counseling, pharmacy, nutrition and educational outreach.

The Center accepts most insurance plans, including Medicaid and Medicare, and no one is turned away for an inability to pay.  Patients without insurance pay on a sliding scale based on their family size and household income.

The presence of BRH in the county had an immediate impact on access to vital healthcare for low-income individuals experiencing barriers to care.
