Tickets are now on sale for The Open Door's Blue Ridge Music Jam — an evening filled with an assortment of music, held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 at HART Theatre, located at 250 Pigeon St. in Waynesville.
The Hill Country Band will bring bluegrass flare to the event, Mountain Joy will flavor the evening with southern gospel and Craig Summers and Chris Minick will fill the air with their unique blend of Americana style music with a resounding message. These musical segments will include brief intermissions to auction off items of special interest, some from area businesses and some the product of our Family of Friends at The Open Door. Door prizes will also be given, and refreshments will be served.
The focus of the Blue Ridge Music Jam is to bring awareness of the hurting members of the community who are finding life a challenge because of dire circumstances. Some have fallen on hard economic times. Others have encountered battles with physical, emotional and mental illness. Substance abuse has taken its toll on many. Our elderly scramble to make ends meet on a fixed income, and we are losing too many of our youth to a world of harsh realities. These are the faces and lives that are center stage for this event and these are the people The Open Door Ministry encounters each week.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will go to support the ministry of The Open Door as it reaches out in Christ’s love to this growing segment of our population.
Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased at the office of The Open Door, located at 32 Commerce St. in Waynesville, or by calling 452-3846. Come for an evening of entertainment, but most importantly, support a cause to change lives.
