In Loving Memory

CANTON —  Bobby Joe McElrath, 76, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Mission Hospitals-Memorial Campus.

He was born in Buncombe County, and was a lifelong resident of Haywood County and the son of the late Moody Battle and Willa Belle Elliott McElrath.  He retired from Southern Maintenance and was a member of Canton Wesleyan Church.  He was a member of VFW Post #891 on Leicester Highway.  Bobby was a talented woodworker and enjoyed reading, watching sports and especially adored all of his family.  He was a very decorated 1^st Class Petty Officer of the U. S. Navy serving during Operation Desert Storm.
