WAYNESVILLE — Bobby Louis Scott, 80, of Canton, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at the Keever Solace Center. He was born in Canton, Jan. 31, 1932, to the late Reverend Irvin and Maude Roberts Scott. He was a U.S.Navy Veteran serving in the Korean conflict. He was employed at Capitol Airlines in Washington, D.C. and later worked for 34 years at Dayco International in Waynesville. Mr. Scott was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Carroll Scott, Jerome Scott and Burder Scott; and two sisters, Juanita Worley, and Maryland Worley. Survivors include Dr. Anne Catherine Serota Scott; his first wife and mother of his children, Mrs. Lillian Mann Scott Rowland; three sons, Dwayne Scott, David Scott and his wife Candy, Derek Scott and his wife Kimberly; one daughter, Jamie Scott Biddix, and her husband Johnny; five grandchildren; a brother, the Rev. Jack Scott; and a sister, Jean Cole.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Rocky Face Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Keever Solace Center, the building fund at Rocky Face Baptist Church, or a charity of your choice.
