Bonfoey receives MADD award

District Attorney for the 30th Prosecutorial District Mike Bonfoey was honored with the Distinguished Heart of MADD award at the annual Law Enforcement Awards last week.

The award is given by MADD and the Governor's Highway Safety Program each year to those individuals who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to stopping impaired driving.

Bonfoey was nominated by Ellen Pitt, MADD representative for western North Carolina.

"I wanted to recognize him for his 10 years of extraordinary care to the crime victims of western North Carolina and for his dedication to stopping the suffering caused by impaired driving," Pitt said.
