The Lake Junaluska Book Review Series kicks off its fall season at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, with a program of interest to all age levels. Dr. Lisa Verges, a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and board-certified Geriatric Psychiatrist, will review Joan Chittister’s book, “The Gift of Years — Growing Older Gracefully.”
This book focuses on the blessings of aging, rather than its burdens, and defines old age as the “softening season when everything in us is meant to achieve its sweetest, richest, most unique self.”
