CULLOWHEE — Mountain Mediation Services will host the Bridges to Peace Family Fun Day event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at Jackson Country Recreation Center, 88 Cullowhee Mountain Road, Cullowhee. A minimum donation of $1 per person is requested for admission to the event.

There will be inflatables, games, relays and interactive and educational events that focus on educating children and parents about bullying — recognizing it, preventing it, and addressing it. B & Al’s Grill of Sylva will be hosting a food truck and serving their famous hamburgers, hot dogs, and fries.

Mountain Mediation Services is a local nonprofit agency that serves the seven western counties of North Carolina. This community-wide event aims to promote peace throughout the region, with an emphasis on bullying prevention among school-aged children.

Raffle tickets will also be available, with a top prize of a three-night stay at an oceanfront condo in Myrtle Beach. The second prize is a fishing rod and reel combo from Dream Catcher’s Fishing Supply. Additional prizes include gift certificates and prize packages will be given out from local businesses.
