Jul 29, 2013

Traci Burrell, manager of the Manpower Staffing Service office in Waynesville, has been named chairman of the 2013-14 United Way campaign.

Burrell, who has been manager of the Manpower operation in Haywood County since 1995, is also a United Way campaign veteran and United Way board member.

In addition to her United Way involvement, Burrell is a board member of the Rotary Club of Haywood County and a volunteer at the Community Kitchen food ministry in Canton.

In commenting on Burrell’s appointment as campaign chairman, outgoing Board President Bill Upton said, “Traci brings experience and enthusiasm to the campaign. We look forward to her strong leadership as a key to a successful United Way Campaign."

The United Way of Haywood County funds 23 human service agencies whose goals include preparing children and adults for success, helping families achieve and maintain economic self-sufficiency and addressing current health situations and promoting wellness.

"With decreased government resources, we have all become more dependent on local community support to assist those in need," Burrell said. "I look forward to working with the campaign cabinet to finance the needs of our member agencies.”
