Cabaret Show June 21 at the Classic Wineseller
Waynesville, NC - The Classic Wineseller, 20 Church Street, is hosting a cabaret show on Saturday, June 21. Singer-songwriter James Hammel presents his story through song in “Celebrating a Collage of Life - a Journey Through Some of Life’s More Poignant Moments”. Joining Hammel are pianist Steve Davidowski, bassist Zack Page, and drummer Evan Martin. Tickets are $34.99 per person and include a delicious four-course dinner.
Mr. Hammel is a member of the prestigious Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs. His passion for singing and playing guitar began in Connecticut when Hammel met jazz great Sal Salvador who introduced him to jazz guitar. Sal challenged Hammel that one day he would pursue a career in music. Hammel took a 20-year detour building and leading large companies. Along the way he wrote songs about his life experiences that are part of his repertoire today. He has been compared to Chet Baker (sexy crooning), John Pizzarelli (energy and guitar work) and Sting (intensity).
James Hammel recorded his first full-length CD, Do It All Over Again, in 2005. Five years later he released Come Together. Hammel and his band have performed in New York City at venues such as The Metropolitan Room, Satalla, Julian's, PM, and Kavehaz (The Gallery). He also has performed at the former CBGB's Gallery and The Bitter End.
The Classic Wineseller, Waynesville’s premier retail wine and craft beer shop, small plate restaurant, and intimate live music venue presents local, regional, or national talent each Friday and Saturday night at 7pm underground at 20 Church Street, Waynesville.
