GREENVILLE — The Canton 12-and-under all-stars was sent packing after losing to South Durham, 12-2, in Thursday’s elimination game at the North Carolina Little League Baseball Tournament at the multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art Elm Street Park.
For the Canton all-stars, it was a case of too little, too late as South Durham bolted to a 10-2 lead after two innings.
Canton was able to hold South Durham scoreless for the next three innings, but a two-run homer in the top of the sixth just added the District 5 champion’s frustrations.
