Canton gets a clean-up
The Commission For a Clean County (CCC), plus civic-minded residents, picked up a trove of trash Sept. 8, in Canton.
Several members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a church committed to civic welfare and good works in the community, worked along with the CCC, as did environmental activist Jim Swan,
With almost a dozen people in the group two locations were done. One was at the corners of Exit 31 and another group worked first along the Old Clyde Road and then on the four-lane highway from the Canton McDonald’s as far down towards Clyde as time and energy would allow.
A dozen bags of trash were picked up at Exit 31 alone before the group working there ran out of bags. The four-lane highway was so full of litter the workers there reported it was impossible to get it ...
