Is your teen ready for life as an adult?  The Canton Library is here to help teenagers prepare for life on their own.

In collaboration with Haywood County 4H and Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina, the Canton Library is hosting a free Financial Education and Career Series for teens.

This three-part series covers how to manage a checking account, set financial goals and finance college. Area professionals from Woodforest National Bank and Haywood Community College will help lead the following sessions:

Tuesday Jan. 17 - Budgeting 101: Learn how to build a monthly budget and squeeze more out of each paycheck

Tuesday Jan. 24 - Plus Interest: Interest can make or break you. Learn the true cost of credit and how to make your money work for you.

Tuesday, Jan. 31 – Financially Navigating College: Scholarships, grants, and FAFSA. Learn how to finance your education.

Each session will be held at the Canton Library from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and includes refreshments and prizes. For more information, contact Jennifer Stuart at 648-2924.

Registration is required. This is a free event.
