Canton teen held at knife point, carjacked

Canton police are still searching for a suspect who held a teen at knife point and stole his car last week.

According to reports, around 12:30 a.m. July 2, 19-year-old Canton resident Morgan Wright, pulled into the Taco Bell parking lot on Champion Drive to read directions and text his girlfriend.

Wright told police that, while parked, a man, who appeared to be tall, slender and about 40 years old with a goatee, approached his car from the driver’s side and asked how he was doing.

After speaking to the suspect briefly, Wright told police he opened the door and pointed a knife at him, directing him to get in the passenger seat.

After the suspect got behind the wheel, Wright jumped out of the car and ran to the Waffle House, where he called for help.
