Canton UMC to hold Lenten service March 13

The Rev. Dustin James, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Canton, will preach at the Canton community Lenten service at noon Thursday, March 13. An offering will be taken on behalf of the Canton Community Kitchen.

Following the 30-minute service, a light lunch will be served in the fellowship hall of the church.

The Rev. James is a native of Lexington and is a graduate of Pfeiffer University and Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury. Before going to seminary, he did mission work with the Guatemalan National Methodist Church.  His first appointment was at Redeemer’s Light UMC in Mooresville.  He currently serves Canton First and Bell United Methodist Church in Leicester.
