Carolyn R. Worley

CANTON — Carolyn Robinson Worley, 78, passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville.
A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Virgil L. Robinson and Mae Wilsie Worley Robinson. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Dale Robinson. She worked at Hendrix Drug Store in Canton, Revco at West Gate and Canton as a druggist assistant. She was a member of Beaverdam United Methodist Church and a member of the Western North Carolina United Methodist Building Team. She loved her dogs and farm animals, and especially her grandson, Cody.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bobby Ray Worley; a son, Joe Worley and his wife, Keela, of Canton; a sister, June Causby and her husband, James, of Biltmore Lake; two brothers, Donald Robinson of Canton and Jim Robinson of Harrison, Tennessee; and a grandson, Cody Worley.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Revs. David Childers, Martha Welch, Bruce Cayton, Steven Phillippi and Richard Gould officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
