Carpal Tunnel seminar is June 24

MedWest Haywood will hold a seminar focusing on Carpal Tunnel Syndrome from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at the MedWest Haywood Health & Fitness Center. Those in attendance will learn about common causes of carpal tunnel, signs and symptoms, and treatment options. A question and answer session will follow the presentation. The seminar is free and open to the public.

The seminar will be led by Dr. Paul Cutting, a well-respected local orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship- trained in hand and upper extremity surgery. Cutting is employed by Western Carolina Orthopaedic Specialists and is affiliated with MedWest Haywood.

This seminar is part of a new series entitled Summer Series, which is aimed at educating the community on common health issues. Summer Series seminars are all taught by local leading physicians affiliated with MedWest Haywood. The topics will include orthopedics, sports medicine, cardiology, family medicine, and venous disease (problems with the veins in the legs).

Summer Series seminars will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday evenings through early September at the MedWest Haywood Health & Fitness Center. The next seminar will be July 8 and is entitled “Your Top Heart Questions Answered!” It will be led by Dr. David Peterson, a cardiologist affiliated with MedWest Haywood.
